This is our new installation of Marshalls Drivesett traditional block paving on a beautiful period home in Sunderland. This installation was a complete replacement from the original worn out tarmac. We removed just over 40 tonnes of waste material and consolidated a new base. The water and electricity services beneath it were protected with concrete pads to protect them from failure or damage.
We had agreed with our client that the large nature of the driveway and the change of axis would benefit from a feature to hide the change in direction. We discussed that the integration of a matching block paved circle would add character and function. After the installation we found this was a very effective remedy and forms a centrepiece for the slow bend on the approach to the property.
Once we had completed the 180 square meter driveway we completely pressure washed the existing 240 square meters of adjacent driveway. We applied the kiln dried sand and then sealed the entire area with Thompsons One Coat Driveway sealer. The result was obviously to a very high standard and we could not be happier.
We are currently taking on similar work in the area.
